Let's be honest: things are going pretty well for us right now. (And yes, we are knocking on wood! Pockpock!) In the four years since its foundation, Zammad GmbH has grown by around 85% - but that's no reason to stand still. Because something else has developed: the trends for user interfaces. So we think that it is time for a website redesign! Read below how the new Zammad website was created - and what was important to us.
In the past, we have already worked with the award-winning Austrian agency Zeughaus Design on various projects. Zeughaus supported us in the development of the Zammad user interface and the design of the previous website. But our long and trusted cooperation goes back to pre-Zammad times - to previous projects like Znuny or OTRS. So we have been buddies for quite some time now!
From the beginning it was clear that we would work together on this project as well. Zeughaus showed a lot of motivation right from the start and threw themselves into the task of applying new trends to our look. Because if your product is great, so should your look be, right?
But we didn’t want to look "just great". We wanted to look like the new Zammad!
"When we developed the new design, our motto was 'grow up, but stay playful'. It symbolizes the metamorphosis from start-up to big player," says Zeughaus. "That's why we wanted to reduce the visual diversity of the old site, unify it and cast it into an evolutionary, recognizable and independent look."
So what makes Zammad special? Easy: we focus on the human component. Our product is handmade, tailored to fit, and behind us is a strong community. This is what inspired Zeughaus during the development: "We chose a papercraft look as our guiding principle because the principle of origami folding is similar to Zammad's: someone creates something impressive and makes it available to the community."
